Driving Directions

*NOTE - the nursery is only open to the public during scheduled sales.

From Bluffton/Hilton Head: From 278, turn right on 170 towards Beaufort. Follow this for about 8 miles until you reach the stoplight at Snake Road (Callawassie General Store, a gas station, is to your right). Turn right and follow 1.2 miles to the Callawassie Island entrance.

From Beaufort: Head south on Highway 170 towards Bluffton. Continue on 170 for 6.8 miles, crossing the Broad River and Chechessee River bridges. At the stoplight for Snake Road (Callawassie General Store, a gas station, is on the left) turn left and follow 1.2 miles to the Callawassie Island entrance.

The address for the Callawassie/Spring Island entrance is 174 Callawassie Dr. Okatie, SC 29909. Check in there with security for your gate pass and directions to the nursery.

Plant Sales

Native plants are rescued and propagated for sale to the Spring Island community and beyond. Some sales are limited to residents due to availability of plants. Currently more than 100 species are grown and available for sale in their season.

The Spring Island Trust’s Native Plant Project is offering over 100 species of native plants for purchase by preorder!
