Tours

The Spring Island Trust Native Plant Project offers interested groups (such as garden clubs, naturalist groups, environmental educators, etc.) the opportunity to visit Spring Island to learn about landscaping with native plants as part of our outreach program. Scroll down for information about setting up a tour.

Minimum group size for a tour is twelve. Please note that the number of tours each year is limited and scheduled significantly in advance. Unfortunately, the Native Plant Project does not provide tours for school groups.

Groups can customize their visits by selecting from a menu of possibilities. Tours are approximately three hours; with lunch included, four hours. Choices could include (dependent upon other scheduled community activities):

  • Trillium garden (February – March only)
  • Members’ gardens (as available)
  • Old Tabby Ruins
  • The Mobley Nature Center
  • 17th hole Rookery (April - May)
  • Presentation that includes growing and designing with native plants
  • Native plant nursery visit and an opportunity for seasonal sales
  • Lunch at Spring Island
